Atlas Shrugged: A poignant story of self-sacrifice. NOT

Producers scramble to fix embarrassing error.

The back of the newly released Atlas Shrugged DVD reads, "AYN RAND’s timeless novel of courage and self-sacrifice comes to life…" Ha ha. Anyone familiar with Rand, Objectivism, or who has read "Atlas Shrugged" knows just how off the mark this is. The error is not a minor quibble. The statement is horribly, stupendously wrong. Rand expends pages railing against the very concept of self-sacrifice. In fact, the Atlas Shrugged credo is nicely summed within the book itself:

I SWEAR BY MY LIFE AND MY LOVE OF IT THAT I WILL NEVER LIVE FOR THE SAKE OF ANOTHER MAN, NOR ASK ANOTHER MAN TO LIVE FOR MINE. [Caps in original.]

I suggest running out to find your copy now. Keep it sealed. It may one day be a collector's item. Hat tip: The Blaze
