In less than 24 hours, news broke that Rick Perry has dropped out of the race and will endorse Newt Gingrich, and the Iowa primary win has flipped to Rick Santorum.
I cannot count the number of capitulations and pronouncements on right-wing blogs that I have read in the last week declaring that Romney will be the Republican nominee and we'd better just get used to it. The race is far more in flux than we are led to believe. I am beginning to wonder if most of the Republican electorate is French, they are so eager to raise the white flag.
How about a little fire in the belly, folks? Romney is not inevitable! Let's fight for the most conservative candidate that we can get! We need not settle for a "moderate" who is the very model for the legislation that we so desperately need to repeal -- ObamaCare. Romney will never have the necessary credibility on this issue. Romney will not fight to reduce the size of government.
